Nina paced the small apartment she had been moved to, wearing a groove in the polished stone floor. It was cold beneath her bare feet. She wasnít sure what had happened to her shoes, but thinking about where they might be was a distraction she didnít need, not when she was beginning to panic again.
She had tried to sleep, but had woken sharply, roused from her slumber by something she couldnít remember now. It had been important, she felt sure of that. A memory? She frowned at the floor, turned on her heel and paced back towards the large tapestry hanging on the black wall, ignoring the niggling voice that mentioned for the thousandth time that there were no windows in her room.
It felt like a cell.
The walls closed in on her and she screwed her eyes shut, breathed out slowly, and drew down a deep breath to calm herself. She had to maintain her focus. Whenever she managed to get her mind off her current situation and unimportant details like her missing shoes, she could catch a glimpse of the shadowy figure that lurked in her fragmented memories.
Her head ached and she paused mid-stride, pressing her hand against her forehead. Sweat dampened it. She was pushing herself too hard again, but she felt that if she just kept her focus for long enough, kept driving forwards and not relenting, that she might remember what had awoken her.
It felt important.
She wanted to have something she could tell the man when he returned.
She hadnít seen him since he had brought her to the room, given her a set of clothes that were still laid out over the back of the red velvet couch in front of the unlit fireplace to her right, and had left her alone with instructions to remain in the room.
She hadnít seen anyone.
Not in all the time she had been here.
The grim corridors of the insanely huge house had been empty as the man had led her through them. Every single one of them. She hadnít even heard a trace of life in the building, other than her escort, and he had been silent the entire walk between the room where she had come around to find him watching her and her new one.
Nina flopped onto the four-poster bed to her left, the dark red silk covers cushioning her fall, cool against her back and her arms as she stretched them out at her sides. She stared at the black ceiling and the crystal chandelier that hung in the centre of it, her mind wandering as her focus slipped.
To the man.
He hadnít mentioned his name.
Because he was a servant?
She had never met a servant before, so she wasnít sure what the protocol was for them, or whether she should have given him her name.
It wasnít as if he had asked, and she felt sure that if it had been important or he had wanted to know it, he would have asked her.
Nina sighed out her breath and sank deeper into the soft mattress, her head filling with a replay of the hours she had spent with him and in this building. Questions began to replace the images, her curiosity getting the better of her now that she was beginning to feel bolder.
She was going to ask him his name when he returned.
She was going to ask him where they were, because this house didnít look like the sort she would find in London. The ceiling slipped out of focus and she struggled to bring it back to sharpness again. It wasnít the first time it had happened, but it was happening less often as the ache behind her eyes gradually dulled and the fog in her mind lifted.
The shadowy figure had drugged her.
It was wearing off, but he had definitely drugged her.
That meant she could be anywhere. She might have been out for hours. Days.
Her throat closed, her heart beating harder against her ribs, and she tugged the soft blanket beneath her into her fists, clinging to it as she fought the wave of panic.
She breathed through it, slowly and steadily, methodically pushing all of the frightening thoughts out of her mind so she could find calm again. With calm came clarity, and she needed that right now. She needed a clear head so she could think.
She needed to figure out what had happened and whether she was safer out there, or in this building.
The handsome man flashed across her eyes, his half-smile making her belly flutter and knees weaken even when she was lying down.
Part of her didnít feel safe around him.
Not because he was a danger to her, like the other man and her ex-husband.
But because he was too alluring, and the pull she felt towards him was too strong. She couldnít fight it, even when she knew that she had to in order to protect herself. She had learned long ago not to trust men.
Especially the handsome and charismatic ones.
And her host was as charming as they got.
Nina pressed her right hand to her chest, feeling her heart beating rapidly against her palm. She needed to get control of herself and shove aside the attraction she felt towards the man, because giving in to it wasnít an option.
She wouldnít put herself through that hell again.
The door in the right corner of the far end of the room opened and she shot into a sitting position, her heart leaping into her throat as her gaze darted towards it.
The man stood there, dressed as impeccably as before in a fine black suit and polished leather shoes, with his dark hair swept back from his face. All that black made him look as pale as a ghost, his skin white and flawless. Only his amber eyes added a touch of colour that added life to him.
Fire.
That fiery gaze burned into her as his eyes came to settle on her, narrowing slightly so his long black lashes darkened his irises to burnished gold.
ìYou are awake,î he said, his voice as smooth and deep as an ocean, lulling her as gently as waves.
With practiced precision, he carried a silver tray into the room and set it down on the black coffee table near the red couch.
Food.
Her stomach grumbled at the sight of it. Fruits, something that looked like a sponge cake, and chocolate. Her belly growled louder, her mouth watering as she thought about breaking off a piece of chocolate and popping it into her mouth. Beside the food on the tray stood an elegant silver teapot and a single fine china cup on a saucer, with a tiny pot of milk and a sugar bowl.
Nina stared at the offering, wondering if she would look rude if she ran across the room to stuff her face with the food.
The man arched an eyebrow at her and then at the tray. ìI can ask for coffee if you prefer it.î
She quickly shook her head. ìTea is fine. Perfect. I love tea.î
And she was rambling. She didnít need to catch the amused look on his handsome face to know that.
She edged off the bed and walked as casually as she could towards the couch. He shifted aside when she neared him and she almost paused to look at him, part of her curious about why he always moved away from her whenever she approached him. Was he merely trying to make her feel more comfortable?
Or was there another reason he wanted to keep his distance from her?

Review

Her Sinful Angel is an emotional story about a side of Lucifer no-one even knew existed. When Nina was left on The Devil's doorstep as a scheme by Heaven itself, neither her nor Lucifer would have ever dreamt that it would affect them in ways they never knew possible any more.

Nina has gone through heartbreak and abandonment, struggling to get past those feelings. Especially when the person who did it, has come back and demanded another chance.

Lucifer. The Devil. Betrayed by Heaven and cast aside to live eternity trapped in Hell as it's ruler. All inner light gone from centuries of torture and darkness.

I found the story to be more of an emotional journey than anything. A story of finding light in the darkness and love in the most unexpected places. Hell. Nina and Lucifer facing feelings that they have fought hard to push aside, yet when together, manage to bring out in each other. Felicity once again drawers you in with her touching words and addictive story-line. Her ability to create such in depth worlds and characters never seizes to amaze me and her creativity is out of this world.

Her Sinful Angel is the perfect mix of paranormal and romance. Both touching and exciting. Completely addictive and I loved every minute of it.

Review- Creative, sexy and addictive. Just some words to describe Craved by an Alpha.

Felicity has this amazing ability to take her readers to such different worlds so far from reality without stretching it to the unbelievable. She pushes the limits with her creativity and I love that most about her stories.

Another thing I love about her stories is that they ooze sexual tension. The relationships she creates between her characters are passionate and hot but most of all believable. There is no getting lost about where the connection comes from. And there are some really good toe-curling connections throughout if you get my drift.

Heaton always knows how to draw in her readers making her words addictive and so hard to put down and Craved by an Alpha was no exception. The story flowed and was so easy to get lost in. One thing that erk my a little was the overly frequent mentions of the past. It at times felt like after every paragraph the characters would talk about "back when" or "just like when". But other than that it was thoroughly entertaining.

So if you're into Paranormal and love a great smoking read, this is perfect for you!

Review- With such a heavily detailed blurb, I don't really have to go into the storyline at all. It pretty much covers it. However what it doesn't cover is how Haunting Lia will absorb and engross you.

To put it bluntly, the prologue scared the crap out of me. I don't do well with creepy, ghostly subjects at the best of times let alone in a well descriptive book, but the fact that it created a reaction from me says a lot. In a good way. The rest of the book was just as good. Scarey, twisted, dark and creepy as well as touching, emotional and romantic. All of this mixed with a well thought out original and creative storyline, and Shannon Eckrich has delivered a thoroughly enjoyable and addictive read. 

I highly recommend this to any paranormal lover out there or anyone who is thinking of delving into this genre.

Review- While I commend the creativity that went into the concept of this story, I found that it lacked excitement and depth and was quite jumpy in places. I also found it a little hard to get into so I couldn't thoroughly enjoy it. It seemed rushed. I think if a little more time went into each scenario and have them developed properly it would would have been a really enjoyable read.

As I said, the creativity and originality is there, the delivery needs a bit of work.

3 Sassy Books!

Review-  Felicity Heaton always creates such unique and creative storylines and this one is no exception. She also manages to create such intense and sexually charged relationships and Kissed by a Dark Prince is full of it. A story of fated love full of passion but also full of uncertainty. 

While I enjoyed the overall storyline and characters, I found that in some areas of the book it seemed to drag a little bit. Explanations for some scenes could go on for up to nearly a page and a half and some were so heavily descriptive that I found myself getting a little bored. The characters thoughts also tended to go off on a tangent before coming back to what was actually happening. But with that said, I did enjoy watching Olivia and Lorens relationship unfold and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the action and drama throughout the book.

With all that said, Kissed by a Dark Prince is an intriguing story with the characters being just as intriguing. The action was intense, the romance was intense and the characters loveable. Just be prepared for a little extensive reading in the descriptive department.

Review- Catherine has stunned me with how much sorrow and emotion she has packed into this short 34 page story. Because the story is so short I cannot say a lot without giving too much away. But I will say this, Condemned To Die is beautifully written with a touching storyline and characters to match. 

 

Zane has the ability to delve into peoples minds, reading their thoughts, controlling their bodies, which is how he learns of the people responsible for pushing Vega to her limit and exacting her revenge on them. Learning of the events that brought the downfall of Vega was heartbreaking. What's more heartbreaking is the twist at the end when it is explained why she went through everything she did.

 

My question is, is there going to be a sequel? I sure hope so.

 

If you are looking for a short read that is worth your time then this is for you. For such a short story, it sure pulls on the heartstrings and leaves it's mark on you.

Review- Insanely intense and sexual.

I never thought the day would would come where I would say that another woman could make me dampen my panties. That day has come. And that day is today. And I just said it! I have been reading so much Sylvia Day lately. I have become addicted and can't seem to put her down, so day after day, Day has continued to get me all hot and bothered with her delectable and erotic words.

Spellbound is an erotic story of love and lust in a world of witches, warlocks and hunters and the taming of a Familiar gone feral- Victoria. The scrumptious, dark haired, stormy eyed Hunter, Max thought he had his work cut out for him when it came to taming the trouble-making Victoria, who has discarded all other Hunters that have crossed her path after having her fun with them. His orders were to tame or kill. Little did he know that taming her would give him the desire to keep her. The intense and emotional connection they have with each other also connects their powers to one another, taking their relationship to a whole other level, mentally and physically connecting them in a way they never thought possible. The feelings they have for one another amplified. Their powers amplified. Powers that don't go unnoticed. 

In between their raunchy and very busy sex life and hunting and being hunted there isn't room for much else and that worked fine for me. Spellbound was fast-paced and full of action, both in the bedroom and out, although sometimes I did find it hard to keep track of where I was at with the storyline because of their busy sex life. *I wish I had a high libido like these two!*

All in all, Spellbound is a quick and addictive read that will have your toes curling and insides quaking with need.

I was lucky enough to be graced with a copy on Unleash to review. Here are my thoughts.

 Finally we are given insight into Snow's world and if you are an avid follower of this series you would know how big of a deal this is. Throughout the Vampire Erotic series we are given snippets of Snow. Lethal, dangerous, unpredictable Snow, tormented by the bloodlust that runs through his veins.

Little did he know that he had someone watching over him throughout his scarred life. Aurora. 

Getting to know Snow was one emotional roller-coaster ride. Take away that tough exterior and we are left with this fragile, beautiful man who is just trying to fight his inner demons. And what demons they are. Felicity brought Snow to life with her amazing ability to create a character with such depth and emotion that anyone to read Unleash would find it hard not to form and emotional attachment to him. And let me tell you, to see him finally find that special someone warmed my heart. But it wasn't without some major hiccups along the way.

The storyline itself  was intense, emotional and heartfelt.  Deep psychological issues, angels and vampires at war, love, romance and it wouldn't be a Vampire Erotic series member without those toe curling, goosebump creating sex scenes that we all love to read. Felicity creates such vivid erotic scenes and delivers them in such a tasteful way that not only do you feel heated to the core but you feel the emotional connection between the characters.

I loved Unleash and I thank Felicity Heaton for giving it to us!

Willow is a headstrong woman from USA who moved abroad and Hector, her English boss, is a ruthless business man. When Willow starts having intense dreams about her boss, she thought they were brought on by her attraction to him, however it is something much more. 

Vivien always manages to create such intense relationships between her characters and always so tastefully. Her writing makes the attraction between them believable. Sparx took a step into the unknown with this story, but reading it you would think she wrote about subjects like this all the time. The storyline seemed effortless and flowed continuously. The way Vivien described he locations and surroundings had my mind going on a journey of lust and adventure that I did not want to end. 

The Falcon Falls is truly captivating, from the characters to the storyline. I was engrossed from beginning to end.
