Kate with the Launch Authors. |
Hello Renee, Stacey, and Sassy Book Lovers all! Thanks so much for inviting me to the blog to talk about Escape Publishing, and some books I really hope you'll love.
My name is Kate, and I'm the Managing Editor of Harlequin Australia's new digital-first imprint, Escape Publishing. We launched with five titles last week. Want to know what they are? Well, let me tell you!
Chains of Revenge – Keziah Hill: an erotic fantasy novella about a slave in sexual bondage who rises to become a Warlord – and take his revenge on the woman who broke his heart.
Chaos Born – Rebekah Turner: an urban fantasy debut about a mercenary with a secret so dark even she doesn't know about it – but secrets are meant to be revealed. This novel introduces the gaslit world of the Applecross, its many layers, characters, and the militant religious order that seeks to control it all.
Christmas Wishes – Rhian Cahill: a steamy and sweet holiday story about best friends realising that all they really want for Christmas is each other!
Grease Monkey Jive – Ainslie Paton: a lovely, meaty, get-your-teeth-in, contemporary romance about a ballroom dance teacher, a mechanic, a dance competition, $50 000, friendships, family, and the power of a little sizzle.
In Safe Hands – Lee Christine: a Sydney-set, sophisticated romantic suspense novel about a highly successful lawyer threatened by a youthful indiscretion and the ex-SAS Commander that she recruits to help her.
The best part is, you don't have to just take my word for it. All our books are currently at a special launch price of $0.99 apiece, except for Chains of Revenge which is available free for a very limited time. So if you want to check us out, now is a great time to do so!
We're also releasing six titles in December, and more in January, all DRM and geographic-restriction free, competitively priced, and professionally edited. And thanks to our digital-first publishing model, we've got the freedom to offer more: more diversity, more options, more choices, more romance. One of the benefits to being digital-first is smaller overhead costs, which means we can take more risks, cater to niches, and diverge onto all kinds of roads less taken.
So you can expect genres that don't often get a look in. For example, we have a couple of science fiction romances in the pipeline. We also have a Scottish medieval, a YA space opera, and a whole pile of Australian-set contemporary romance that demonstrates the breadth and depth of living – and loving – in Australia.
You can find out more about everything Escape on our website, www.escapepublishing.com.au. We're also across various social media, including facebook, twitter, and youtube. So do get in contact, let us know what you think, let us know what you want to read, and what we can do for you.
Thanks so much for having me on Sassy Book Lovers to chat about Escape Publishing, and I look forward to hearing from all of you!
