Title: Guardian Author: Elita Daniels Release Date: 1st April 2011
Blurb: Beautiful vampire Anna, is entangled in a social conflict between human and vampire races. The Vampire Infection they'd thought could uncover medical miracles has spread out into the city.
Carrier Vampires who can infect people with the blood lust disease have been detained in an attempt to halt the spread. Non-carriers have been left to normal lives, treated with sedating medication. But there were still too many accidents, it's been decided by Alicorp to assign human protectors - mandated by law.
These protectors are known as....Guardians.
Anna falls in love with her guardian, a man who wants to find a cure, but the more she learns about him and his association with Alicorp the harder she finds it to trust him.
My Rating: An awesome read.
My Review: I was so excited when i was asked to review this book, gotta love the book covers! *winks*
I must say i really enjoyed reading this book, with all the vampire books out these days this one adds a new refreshing twist to life as a vampire. It gives us a view into what life would be like if Humans controlled the vampires.
Human's discovered this infection and once it became public each vampire was assigned a Guardian to watch over them by law.
We have Anna she was 24yrs old when she was first infected. She's been infected for roughly 8 years and 2 of those years was in a testing clinic were they did horrible things to her. They are made to drink artificial blood and are tested often to check they stick to it. Anna's new Gaurdian Leon is a scientist he's interested in finding a cure to the infection.
Human's can be so cruel!! (but so can vampires!) lol
It's got me hanging for the next installment. It may be a short story to read but it's well written that it gives you so much more. I'd recommend this book to all the Paranormal readers, this gives you a nice taste of something different. *winks*

My Review: I stumbled across this book on facebook and just the cover drew me in. (I'm a sucker when it comes to gorgeous book covers.) I was lucky enough to be given the chance to read this book and review it and boy i wasn't disappointed. Not only is the cover fantastic but what lays inside is too.
I just couldn't put this book down it keeps you on your toes all the way through, your alway wondering whats going to happen next. So many twists and turns, not your average vampire story which is a great change. The characters are just wonderfully written, and always making you smile and laugh.
Mindy she's just so amazing so easy to relate too, her best friend Markus now he's a hoot i truely loved him he reminded me of my bestie. Can't forget hunky Dean *whistles* he can come protect me anytime! *winks* Who could say no to a hottie in leather and who rides a motorcycle?! *giggles*
I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone... It would have to be one of the best books i've read this year so far and i can't wait to sink my teeth into the next one cause at the end your left wanting more! I must say I was truely *CAPTIVATED* ;)
I just have to include this little teaser oooo it give's me goosebumps -
I let out a huff and forced a smile. “You’re a vampire.”
I stated.
Dean tilted his chin up and smiled. “I have no fangs.”
He said through his teeth.
I examined the glistening white canines. They were
normal, just like mine. “You retract them when you don’t
need them.” I said.
Dean moved across the table and put his face up to
mine. His mouth was a torturous breath away from my
own. “Then why haven’t I sucked your blood Lina?” He
whispered right before pressing his soft lips against mine.
Then he inched towards my neck and lingered his lips on
my pulse. His soft breathing tickled my skin and triggered
a chill that shot up my spine. My blood jumped to a rush
and began to throb for him. If he were a vampire, I swear
I’d let him suck me. “Why aren’t I biting you right now?”
He whispered. It took everything I had in me not to melt
into the seat and land as a puddle on the ground.
Renee and I would love to wish you all a happy and safe Easter.

Title: Fervor Author: Chantel Boudreau Release Date: 12th March 2011
Blurb: Abandoned and scared, but less alone than he could have ever imagined, Sam awakens to the screams of the other children on the island of Fervor, and the absence of all adults. To make matters worse, despite hearing this chaos in his head, he finds himself deaf to the normal sounds around him. His only answers are now being provided by a strangely charismatic boy named Francis who is about to lead Sam to a gathering that will alter his life. Why have things changed so drastically on the island, who is responsible for these changes, and what does this mean to the remaining inhabitants of Fervor?
Fervor, a dark dystopian science fantasy, looks at the complications involved in introducing a telepathic link within a population and the ethical issues surrounding human experimentation and genetic manipulation.
In the story, the main character, Sam, wakes up to discover that the 300 children on the island of Fervor have been abandoned by all of their adult minders and teachers, and that the majority of them are now connected by a telepathic link, known as the connection. To make matters worse, they are led by children who refer to themselves as Tellers to a huge gathering, where they are introduced to their “house-families,” a group of other children with varying talents. They are made aware of how their new talents work, and receive instructions from the Tellers in the “Directives,” a set of rules that they will now be forced to follow. They also eventually realize that they have stopped aging.
Sam finds himself victim of bullying and mental domination within his house family, but settles into an uncomfortable routine, nevertheless. All of this is thrown into turmoil when he and two house mates are contacted by a strange man, Elliot Masterson, who brings with him a magical device, the Languorite - a device that may prove to be their key to freedom as it influences their talents and causes them to age again.

Review: I was captured from the very start. Chantel has given us a completely different world to connect with, her characters are strong and easy to relate too. The book is like a cross from sci-fi and Fantasy, with a touch of magic. I'll be keeping my eye out for a second book, cause this is a captive story that you won't want to end.
Let's start with the characters.
First we have Sam he's a Finder, he has strong instincs to find anything that is of any importance. He's young and scared about the changes that are happening, yet he's very strong minded. I really enjoyed reading from his perspective.
Sarah is the Fixer she can heal almost anything, she's a courageous little thing and she has a heart of gold. She is strong spirited and will do anything she can to help her friends.
Fiona now she's got some attitude on her *winks* she's the Keeper, looks after the house and does most of the preparing. She's a little harder to get along with, but who doesn't love a woman with backbone!
Nathan he's the Watcher he protects them from any danger. He's such a nice guy, he'd come rushing from anywhere to save them.
Royce he's a Control and a nasty one at that. He takes a disliking to Sam from the get-go. I think he's just as scared as everyone else on Fervor.
Then we have Francis the Teller, he is the leader and head of the house. He can give orders that they have to obey even unwillingly. Poor Francis starts to get power hungry and abuses his position.
I really enjoyed reading this story, it'll blow your mind and i'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Author Information:
JoAnne Kenrick grew up in a small sea-side town in North Wales. Having experienced life in several different countries, she now lives in North Carolina with her husband, two children and a lazy cat. When they aren’t demanding her attention, she can most likely be found watching a vampire movie, reading, or baking up a British feast in her N.C. kitchen. And if she isn't in one of those spots, she is probably hiding in her writer's cave or recording her next vlog.
Excerpt:
“Pearl, come out of the rain. You’ll catch your death.”
A strike of lightening blazed up the sky, a brilliant yellow. Was Mother Nature expressing the fury I felt inside? Was I somehow connected to the storm? It felt that way, and I wanted the sounds of the storm to fill me to the brim, leaving no room for confusion. I looked up at the moon and held out my arms. Take me, storm, take me.
Adam grabbed my hand and dragged me under the deck’s roof.
I can’t let the ocean call you to its depths. I won’t let it happen.
I heard what was in Adam’s head. No, I felt it. A panic had taken hold of him. It was gut-wrenching; his heart pounded hard and fast as though he’d lost someone to the sea, a loved one.
“What the hell?” I maneuvered to face him—his arms were still wrapped tight around me. I wiped the sodden hair away from my face and stared up at him. The sense of familiarity flooded me again, and I yearned to bask in the comfort that comes with such closeness. A desire to place my head on his chest and to wrap my arms around him filled me, but I resisted for fear of being pushed away.
“Have you ever met someone for the first time, but in your heart you feel as if you’ve met them before?”
“Yes,” he said. Adam gazed into my eyes, his expression soft and concerning.
“What do you think it means?”
“Dunno.”
I loved the vibration of his thoughts. They traveled through me as though they belonged to me. It made me feel close to him. Being with him was like being with an old friend. Frosty-ass comments and all, I wanted to take comfort in him and could resist no more. I wrapped my arms around him and buried my head into his chest. It felt like home. He felt like home.
“Maybe we knew each other in a past life?” I asked, closing my eyes and leaning into the safety of him.og.
