My Rating: 5 #TeamDemonTrapper Sassy Stars

My Review: When I received this in the mail, I was so over the moon but also a little sad cause I knew this was it, this was the end of such an amazing series. I'm not going to give ANYTHING away in this review, this book needs to be read and experienced personally.

Jana Oliver has delivered a BRILLIANT conclusion in this amazing series. You just can't help getting swept up in this book, I found myself devouring every page and once I came to that last chapter, I read slowly to soak it all in.....

"You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend." ~Paul Sweeney

One of my favourite quotes and Jana has made me feel this way, the world she has created is one that'll stick with you, one you'll keep going back to over and over again. The adventures your taken on, the characters, the creativity, the magic, the pure awesomeness just oozes off the pages.

Riley, she just has to be my favourite character, ever! She's a don't take crap from no-one sorta chick, she can seriously kick ass! She's strong willed and won't give up on anything or anyone, she will always put a smile on your face. :-)

Beck, well what can I say about him. Beck seriously brings out all the girly emotions, through most of the series in alot of parts you just wanna slap him to try and knock some sense in to the guy, than there's the other times where he'll just melt your heart and just leave you all gooey inside, than the other times where he'll do or say something that'll have you wondering why he is the way he is. Even when Beck is being a pain, you'll always catch yourself with even a hint of a smile, cause he's just that sort of a guy. As Riley likes to say "an asshat" but a lovable one.

All the characters are amazing in their own way, even the evil ones. They all bring this story to life and it wouldn't be the same without any of them.

I'm still reeling from this book, I just can't stop thinking about it and I love that! I want to start over and read them all again right now LOL!

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. ~James Bryce

So true! These books are a must read, I recommend adding them to your to-read lists or even racing out and buying them right NOW!! You won't regret it. Come join THE DEMON TRAPPERS and kick some serious demon butts!! #TEAMDEMONTRAPPERS

Here's a little something from Book one Forsaken...

“Kiss my ass, demon!’ Beck whooped, and shot a first in the air.”
Jana Oliver, Forsaken

Review- Shift by M.R Merrick

Title- Shift
Author- M.R Merrick
Genre- Paranormal
Publish Date- 1st of February 2012
Publisher- Self Published

Blurb- Devastated by a terrible loss, Chase is trying to balance the life he’s been left with, a family he’s still getting to know, and power he never thought he’d have. He doesn’t understand why the Goddess has named him the Protector and granted him two gifts: the Mark, a tattoo that now covers his back, and the ring. But between getting interrogated by the Circle and psychic attacks from Riley, the Mark is the least of his concern. There’s a demon inside Rayna that’s fighting to be released, and it’s not her inner witch. It’s something else—a monster threatening to tear her apart.

As Chase struggles to control his magic, his enemies are closing in. Everyone has staked a claim on his ring, and destroying it may be his only chance to stop Riley. But Chase must decide if stopping him is worth risking the lives of everyone he cares about, or if protecting the ring will be enough to save his world.

Review- Merrick has amazed me all over again with the second installment in "The Protector" series. He really is the whole package. A package which includes a vivid imagination, a writing style to make any author jealous, loveable characters, not to mention one the most creative storylines I have ever come across. Did I mention that he published it himself?

So onto Shift...

We find Chase right where we left him in Exiled (If you missed my review on that you can check it out HERE). There is no mucking around with Merrick, because we are thrown straight into action and drama from the very first page. Chase's intense struggle with a heart-breaking loss and the unpredictable magic inside of him makes for a crazy roller-coaster ride of emotions and occurrences that will have you on the edge of whatever seat you're sitting on. Not only do we have to watch Chase go through pain, his friends Rayna and Willy also face some difficult obstacles and tough decisions.

From start to finish, word to word, Shift was one exciting, edgy read that everyone will love. So waste no time and get your copy NOW!

Author: Gina Rosati
Release date: 7th August 2012
Published by: Roaring Brook Press
Source: ARC copy from Author
Genre: YA

Goodreads Description:

16 year old Anna Rogan has a secret she's only shared with her best friend, Rei; she can astrally project out of her body, allowing her spirit to explore the world and the far reaches of the universe.

When there's a fatal accident and her classmate Taylor takes over Anna's body, what was an exhilarating distraction from her repressive home life threatens to become a permanent state. Faced with a future trapped in another dimension, Anna turns to Rei for help. Now the two of them must find a way to get Anna back into her body and stop Taylor from accusing an innocent friend of murder. Together Anna and Rei form a plan but it doesn't take into account the deeper feelings that are beginning to grow between them.

My Rating: 5 Sizzling Sassy Stars

My Review: Firstly I'd like to thank Gina Rosati for sending me a copy of this amazing book for the tour and an honest review. Also Jean BookNerd for hosting this tour, thank you! :-)

Wow, just wow! Gina has written an exhilarating debut novel, It literally just blew my mind! From the very first page it grabbed me.

Gina's storytelling is truly awe-inspiring, every step of the way I felt like I was apart of the story. A movie just playing in my head, one that I didn't want to end. The characters are so easy to connect with, they feel like long lost friends.

Anna can astral project, she can leave her body and adventure anywhere and everywhere (who wouldn't wanna do that, right?!?!). Until one time she ignores a warning to go back, and she finds herself without her body. A school rival (Taylor) has taken over Anna's body and boy, does she have some fun! Poor Anna, she's left in another dimension where she can't talk, she can't even eat. Though by using energy she can do some amazing things. Anna had me cracking up with the stuff she was doing throughout the story, she's such a fun character!

Rei, my goodness what a man! He's sweet, sensitive, caring and very lovable. The perfect "dream" guy! He takes his friendships very seriously and when one or both of his bestfriends are in trouble, he does everything he can to help and protect. I swear I was swooning over him through the whole book *blushes* ;-)

The secondary characters all had their own individual awesomeness. Taylor, she's just your average weird teenage girl who hides all her problems through lashing out and being outrageous (like taking over someone elses body). Rei's little sister was just gorgeous! (I have a younger sister myself and remember the babysitting days, loads of fun) ;-) My heart really went out to Seth, he gets put through hell!! I really could go on but, I think I've already said too much LOL!

This book is A MUST READ!! It gives you something new & exciting also it's a story that'll stick with you long after finishing the last page. If you haven't added it to your TBR list than I recommend you do so, this is one that's not to be missed. It's in my top 5 "Best Reads" of 2012.

Congratulations Gina Rosati on a truly fantabulous story!

Review- Flicker by Kaye Thornbrugh

Title- Flicker
Author- Kaye Thornbrugh
Genre- Fantasy/ Paranormal
Publication Date- 25th of February 2012
Publisher- Amazon Digital Services

Blurb- When sixteen-year-old Lee Capren is spirited away to Faerie, she is forced to serve capricious faeries as a prized portrait artist… and live as their prisoner.

A chance encounter with the charming Nasser grants Lee a chance for freedom—but what felt like mere days in Faerie spanned years in the human world, and Lee no longer has a home to return to.

Nasser is a Seer—a human with magical powers—and Lee is quickly plunged into his world: a sprawling city teeming with magic and mystery, where supernatural creatures walk hidden among humans. With the help of a rag-tag group of teenage Seers, Lee must master her newfound magical talent and outwit a cunning faerie determined to destroy her

Review- After an enjoyable break from reviewing the fantasy/paranormal genre, I jumped into Flicker. I was excited to get back into my favourite genre but I feel a little let down with this one. It wasn't the fast paced, intense read I thought it would be. Let me explain why...

Flicker took me forever and a day to read.  It wasn't one of those books that I couldn't put down. So let me start off with the storyline. The whole concept of the story I liked. I liked the idea behind it and I liked the scenes in the book, I just feel like they could have been delivered a little better. I found myself bored throughout the majority of the book but kept reading because I wanted to know the outcome. The action scenes in Flicker were enjoyable. Magical battles mixed with physical battles are always an interesting mix. Especially the last battle between Lee and Byrony, but you have to wait until the last few chapters for that.

The characters I loved. Lee, Nasser, Filo, Jason, Angela, each had their own unique characteristics and persona's which was great. They were all intriguing with their own stories to tell which I will give kudos to Kaye for. It's not every day you find a book that you fall in love with the characters and not the storyline as well.

I don't want to seem like I am bashing on Flicker as it may be for some people. If you're looking for an easy breezy read and a steady stream of a story than this is for you. I guarantee if anything you will love the characters.  I would mainly aim this towards the YA audience.

You can pick up your copy of Flicker at AMAZON
in paperback and kindle.

You can also find out more about Flicker and Kaye through the following links.

Enjoy your day and
HAPPY READING!
