Darkest Before Dawn
(KGI, #10)
By Maya Banks
The Kelly Group International (KGI): A super-elite, top secret, family-run business.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t...
The enigmatic Hancock has been both opponent and ally to the KGI teams for as long as they've known him. Always working a deep game, Hancock's true allegiance has never been apparent, but one thing is for certain—he never lets anything get in the way of duty.
But now, his absolute belief in the primacy of his ultimate goal is challenged by a captive he's been ordered to guard, no matter how much she suffers in her prison. She's the only woman who's ever managed to penetrate the rigid walls surrounding his icy heart, but will he allow his perplexing feelings for the beautiful victim to destroy a mission he's spent years working to complete or will he be forced to sacrifice her for “the greater good.”

My Rating:
4 SASSY BOOKS!!
My Review:
I'm so late into this series, this is the first book I've read from the KGI and it definitely has intrigued me to go back and start from the beginning. I didn't find myself lost or confused so you can read this as a standalone.
Honor works in a clinic in the Middle East, she felt it was her calling to help people in need. The clinic is situated right in the middle of a war zone so their lives are at risk every day, any minute there could be an attack.
The worst happens and the clinic is bombed by the terrorists. Honor is left injured, hungry and on the run for her life. I loved her courage, even when things looked bleak, she just wouldn't give up.
Hancock has been through a lot in his past and he seems so cold hearted and lethal, but there's warmth hiding in there.
He's dedicated to his mission, find Honor and use her to draw out the enemy. As feelings begin to blossom the mission gets harder and harder to complete. Can he truly go through with it?
Right from the very first page I was drawn in, the situation felt so intense and real. As the story progresses there's loads of action and suspense to keep the reader hooked.
glad you enjoyed it, unfortunately something happens in this book that just not makes this my cup of tea
