**SPOTLIGHT & AUTHOR INTERVIEW** Elizabeth Lowell Author of New Upcoming Novel - Perfect Touch

Perfect Touch: A Novel
By Elizabeth Lowell
Release Date - 28th July, 2015

An art dealer and owner of her own design studio, Perfect Touch, Sarah “Sam” Maddox travels the world to find the ideal artwork for her clients. Her sophisticated, comfortable life in San Francisco is light years away from the poverty of her family’s dairy farm, and Sam will do whatever it takes to keep her business strong. A dedicated urban career woman focused on her work, she doesn’t have time or energy for a family or distracting romantic entanglements.

Jay Vermillion recently inherited Vermillion Sky, a working ranch near Wyoming’s breathtaking Grand Teton Mountains—and the estates of the rich and restless. While he was fighting in two wars, his father tried to keep the homestead running, until illness stole his fight and then his life. Jay’s determined to restore Vermillion Sky, but first he’s got to settle a vicious battle with his former stepmother over some of his late father’s paintings. The last thing on his mind is a finding a wife and creating a sixth generation of Vermillions.

When Jay hires Sam to handle his father’s artwork, it’s love at first sight—a mutually inconvenient attraction that is soon complicated by a double murder at the edge of the ranch and a potential betrayal even closer to home. Working together to unmask a murderer, Sam and Jay try to fight the intense heat between them. Then the killer targets Sam. And suddenly, Jay, the war-weary soldier, finds something he’s once again willing to die for . . .

What or who inspired you to become a writer?

I wanted to make things that I wanted to read myself, which I still do.

Who is your favourite Author & what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Too many to note. That said, Jane Ann Krentz has never disappointed me in all the years I've been reading her.

What was the hardest part about writing your book?

Getting through the endless middle chapters. I know where I'm going but I sometimes take what feels like too long to get there.

What was your favourite chapter to write and why?

Whenever the two main characters are just getting to know each other, that's some of the most fun to write. I get to explore and lead and maybe some of it makes readers curious and they want to know more (and as a writer, I experience that too.)

What was the most surprising things you’ve learned in writing PERFECT TOUCH?

Since the books I write are thoroughly plotted, the surprise element for me is minimal, which is good. My earlier, unplotted books were filled with nasty surprises.

Do you ever experience writer’s block?

It's not a luxury I can afford.

What is the last book you read?

SECOND CHANCE SUMMER by Jill Shalvis. If you haven't read her, you're missing good times!

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?

I'm very happy with my life. I don't want to miss a day of it. :D

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Reading, walking the dogs, cooking, being out on the road and exploring.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

The settings are, since they're a critical part of the books. Real life is too limiting, though, if you do nothing but stick to it.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I studied science and would have been happy to be a geologist or earth scientist, but that wasn't something that was open to most women of my generation.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Anne Hathaway

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

Depends if you're writing to make a living or not. If so, then know your market and who you're writing to. Otherwise, just write what works for you. But don't just aspire. Do.

Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers and fans?

Thanks for all of your support and sharing in my madness!

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Wife, mother, author.

What’s one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?

I've never eaten a bowl of guacamole in my life.

What Scares you the most and why?

Guacamole. Serious allergy.

When was the last time you cried over a book?

The last time one of mine was making me nucking futz.

Tell us about your first kiss?

Bumping noses in the dark over Spin the Bottle in grammar school.

Light or Dark chocolate?

Why choose?

Sunrise or Sunset?

Sunset. Though sunrise is more spectacular at my house when I'm able to catch it.

 Dogs or Cats?

Woof.

 Tea or Coffee?

Tea.

Favorite Colour?

Blue

Favourite Disney movie?

FANTASIA

Name 5 of your fictional crushes as of right now?

My reality crush of almost fifty years still does it for me.
