Firstly, I'd like to thank TRSOR promotions and Pepper Winters for giving me the opportunity to review and join the tour.
I've read two of Pepper Winter's books and have loved them both. I was expecting a dark and thrilling story and she delivered that and more.
Nila, a 24yr old young woman whose lived a sheltered life. Her career as a fashion designer has just started to blossom. She has a father and twin brother she adores. The only thing missing was a little excitement. At her fashion show she finds herself in the hands of a dark mysterious man, this man seems like the perfect escape from her sheltered life until she discovers his real means. The life as she knew it was now over, an old family debt had come to haunt her and there was nothing she could do about it. She now belonged to Jethro, a cold heartless man who had only one thing on his mind..to break her and bring nothing but pain.
I had so many mixed emotions with this story, my heart truly went out to Nina, I mean the crap she goes through, who wouldn't?! I also truly felt her hate towards her captors, I wanted to jump in and rip some heads off lol, I was shaking with anger. I loved how no matter what they dished out she still stayed strong. The will to live is a powerful thing.
Through most of the book my anger was directed at Jethro. Don't get me wrong, I love the whole cold, mean, brutal, sex crazed monster but I also like just the teeniest bit of heart in there too and Jethro didn't seem to show an ounce of it. Though no matter how much he aggravated me I couldn't stop reading, I just couldn't get enough of him. I was like Nina, hate filled with lust. Jethro is one of those characters you truly love to hate, he is purely addictive!!!
Another character I found intriguing was Nila's little sexting friend, Kite007. Who is this mysterious Bond? I'd so love to learn a little more about him. ;-)

Pepper Winters has delivered a fantastic first novel in her new series. I look forward to seeing the dark places she takes these characters. And I definitely look forward to seeing where she takes Jethro, can a little heat reach that cold heart? Hmmm guess we'll have to wait and see......the wait is gonna kill me lol.
If you like a little dark erotic romance than I recommend to wet your appetite by giving Pepper's books a go, she truly knows how to entice the wicked! ;-)

"Huge disappointment, Ms. Weaver." His cold glare sent a snowstorm wiping away the bonfire in my belly. "I'm done playing games, so cut the bullshit. Time to begin the day." His voice gave no room for interpretation. A cold draft shot down my back.
My brief reprieve from debts and horrible Hawks was over. I'd been shown something I desperately wanted, but denied it because I failed to please him.
"You could teach me...show me how..." I couldn't make eye contact with him. Mortification painted me cheeks for both admitting I was clueless and asking a monster to coach me.
Jethro laughed. "Your think that will save you from what's coming? Was that your little plan? To make me fuck you in the hopes I might feel something for you?"

About the author
Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex...her books have sex. She loves to trevel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affairs with her book boyfriends.
