Book Review & Giveaway - Charlotte's Bed by S.J. Stava

Charlotte's Bed
 By S.J. Stava

At thirty, Charlotte is sick of the single life. Sick of online matchmaking, sick of bad first (AND second) dates, and sick of the dreaded "I can't believe you're not married yet!" pitying stares. So when her boyfriend proposes Рwho just happens to be a Dean at the university where she works Рshe's thrilled to bid her singledom adieu. At the start of the new semester, she seems to have it all: a great job, great friends, and now. . . a great fiancé.

So what’s the catch? An annoyingly handsome new teaching assistant and the opportunity to direct the school’s fall production. Still can’t see the downside? Neither can Charlotte until suddenly, what she thought she wanted, might not be enough anymore.

How do you choose between the life you've always imagined and the love you've suddenly discovered?

About the author

Sophie's loved to read for as long as she can remember. Most childhood summers were spent shleping to and from the local library with shopping bags full of books. Her passion for books led her to study literature at UCSB, where she graduated with her B.A. in English.

After working in a plethora of different careers - from wedding planning to market research to fundraising - Sophie's never stopped reading, or writing.

After dallying in ghostwriting, she got bit by the bug and decided to publish her very own book, Charlotte's Bed, under her very own name.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book!! It was real...the self discovery, the love, the heartache, you can't help but get swept up in this story. The author has done an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life.

Charlotte is a 30yr old professor and she's dating the Dean of the University. She's very content with her life, until that moment when Richard (the Dean) does the unexpected and proposes, she then starts to question, is she truly happy? She gets even more confused by that question when she meets her new T.A, Mason. He's smart, sexy and fun to be with. Is getting married to Richard and living a plain life really what she wants?

I loved Charlotte, she's quirky and so much fun, she had me cracking up all the way through the book. I have to admit, some of her decisions really got on my nerves, a few times there I could've given her a good smack around the ears. But in reality we all make bad decisions to reach the right ones, so I can't really blame her for them.

I truly couldn't stand Richard, he's too controlling for my liking, I don't know how Charlotte could put up with it. I know when you go on dates, it can be romantic to have everything decided for you but to have it done in nearly every aspect, yeah not gonna happen!! Sometimes a girl needs to splurge and have some fatty foods to keep going. I know I can't live without my chocolate, take away my chocolate and a demon will come out in my stead. Haha!

I loved Mason too, he's sweet, smart, gorgeous and he brings a certain spark to the story. He's book boyfriends material, that's for sure!! ^_^
