BLOOD OATH TEASER

"So why not just kill me? If your whole plan revolves around brainwashing him, why prolong it?"
I knew I was tempting fate by talking of my death, but I wanted to know---needed to know exactly what we were up against.
"Because I am almost certain your death will utterly damage him, therefore making him useless to me. No, I want him to see I hold all the power, and only his obedience to my commands will keep you with him."
He looked so arrogant, standing there as if he had it all figured out, but I didn't point out the blatant flaw in his plan. Mason would never bow. Yes, my death would crush him, but there was an amazing strength and resilience to the man I loved. It wouldn't be long before he rose and focused his entire attention on seeking justice. I knew love made people do crazy things, and it could also make them feel like they're buried deep in a pit of despair when lost. But never take from a wolf because eventually they will bite back, heading straight for the throat.
Avery was a fool for not recognizing that.
"So now you have me, what do you plan on doing with me?" Everything hinged on this answer.
“Are you eager to part ways, Darcy? I’m hurt.” He held his hand to his heart and slightly bowed his head, a mocking look of distress on his face. “What would you say if I told you I hoped to keep you by my side … indefinitely?”

Review- The Diviners by Julian White

Title- The Diviners
Author- Julian White
Released- 1st August 2011
Genre- Horror

Blurb-
Four people in a small town find themselves persecuted in different ways by the same terrifying supernatural force.
Karen was happily married – until her husband became a religious maniac and set himself on fire. Since then, she has worked on her own to raise their daughter and establish an elegant seaside bistro – all by the age of 27. Now her husband's back, madder than ever, and she sees her polite, chattering customers transformed into a raving monster bent on destroying everything she loves.
Sandra holds down a tough job as a district nurse, looking after the sick and elderly in her neighbourhood. She has money worries, guilt over the death of her abusive mother and disturbing memories about a mysterious event in her past. Her life slides into chaos when one of her patients turns up dead in the boot of her car and she can't get rid of the rapidly decaying body.
Felix is a dull provincial solicitor – so dull, in fact, that his wife goes elsewhere in search of sexual fulfilment. When a perverse young couple hold her captive in a luxurious house, he comes to the rescue, only to find that something utterly evil and as ancient as civilisation itself lurks beneath the sparkling surface of their swimming pool.
Mick is still licking his wounds six months after being dumped by his girlfriend. In hopes of forgetting her, he goes to bed with an enigmatic lady whose hair smells of blackcurrants. As a result, he undergoes a transformation into a creature out of an insane nursery story.
And that's only the beginning. When these four stories converge, the stage is set for an earth-shattering climax.
Welcome to the world of the Diviners' Guild.
Who are they? The answer takes in cannibalism, deadly maggots, reincarnated cats, body horror, psychological chills, blood magic, black farce, breakneck action, a thousand-year-old secret, a silver coin and a supernatural threat to Creation itself.
The Diviners is the no-holds-barred fictional début by writer and critic Julian White, full of surreal scares, adult imagery and laughter in the dark. Read it if you dare.
Review- Ok firstly I would like to admit that I did not finish it. I couldn't! The Diviners is full of random weirdness which has no appeal to me whatsoever. There's unrealistic yet believable and there's just plain unbelievably stupid. I mean seriously, a guy who starts literally eating some chick who he's making out with just because she is a gingerbread woman is just plain grosse, not intriguing. Not to mention way too farfetched! The four people in the story are connected by one thing. A letter that states they will be "assayed". That's it! Whether they connect further towards the end, I don't know because as I said, I didn't finish it and I don't particularly care to. It's definetely a book I couldn't and didn't lose myself in. A totally harsh review, I know, but it's honest and if you went and read it because I said it was great and you hated it then you wouldnt trust me ever again. Well that's it. Short and, well, not so sweet.

Cold Blood Blog Tour: Review

We are the next stop on this tour.

                                  COLD BLOOD BLURB

Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process. Which happens more often than not for the freshman. Lucky for them, my presence has just stolen the spotlight, and they get a break from the daily joys of hazing. At least I've got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De'Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he's destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn't going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point's evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?

My Rating:    A MUST READ!!!

My Review:  Wow! What an awesome continuation in this thrilling story. Nothing better than an action packed story about werewolves & hunters.

Heather Hildenbrand has such a way with her writing, her words draw you in and have you hanging on to each and every one. I was glued to my kindle for 2 days reading this amazing book, I seriously just couldn't put it down. Many twists and turns that'll have you on the edge of your seat, always something exciting happening.

You get introduced to some new and exciting characters, and we also have our favourites back from book 1 Dirty Blood. This is a series I really recommend you sink your teeth into.

The writing is so good that it makes you wonder if the author took writing classes from online universities.

And here's a special excerpt from COLD BLOOD just to entice you even more...

When he was gone, I joined Grandma andmy mother; neither of which commented on the boy I’d seen. Then again, he’ddarted away so quickly they probably hadn’t recognized him from that far away.
As Grandma reached for the door, itswung open and a short, stocky man stepped out, holding it ajar with hisbackside. He smiled expectantly at Grandma–an action that pushed his roundglasses further up his nose–and crinkled his eyes so his irises disappearedbehind tiny slits.
"Edie, it's good to see you,"he said, holding his hand out towards her.
"Vernon." Grandma took hishand and then leaned in to kiss the man's cheek. His already flushed cheeksflamed a little brighter from her attention, and his eyes flicked to my mother.
"Hello, Elizabeth," he saidshyly.
My mother smiled back at him, a gesturethat was more genuine than I'd expected. "Vern, how are you?" She,too, leaned down and kissed his cheeks before passing through the doors.
Vernon reddened again and then lookedback at me. "Miss Godfrey. I’m Headmaster Whitfield. Welcome." Hewaved me inside with a polite gesture.
"Thanks," I mumbled.Headmaster? Was this place above using the word “principal?”
I heard the door close behind me, andthe robust headmaster stepped around me, heading for Grandma.
"You made good time," he saidas they took up the lead and drifted towards a side hallway.
Grandma responded with something abouttraffic and the Hummer being a smoother ride than you’d think. I tuned it outand stared at the lobby. The walls next to me were covered with long tapestriescolored to look like foreign flags and interspersed with large oil paintings ofsome alumni or another from decades past. Bronzed plaques hung underneath thepaintings, giving names and dates. Again, I was struck by how little this feltlike a normal school; College, maybe. More like the UN, though.
And what was that boy doing here? Did hego to school here? Grandma would know, since she'd brought him with her thatday as part of her team, but I couldn't ask her now. She was still locked inconversation with my new principal. Sorry, Headmaster.
"Tara." I turned at the soundof my mother's voice. She’d paused at the edge of a hallway where Grandma and Headmasterhad disappeared. Her foot tapped a harsh beat against the gleaming floor.
"Coming," I said.
The hallway we turned down felt muchmore like a school office. Flyers for various protocols and procedures werestuck to the walls or hung on bulletin boards. I passed a few doors, mostlyopen, and was greeted with polite smiles from secretary-looking women who lookedup at me over the rim of their reading glasses before going back to theclick-click of their computer keyboards.
At the end of the hall, I followed mymother into an office and found Grandma already sitting in a leather chairacross from Headmaster, who sat behind the biggest desk I'd ever seen. Despitehis roundness, he looked tiny behind that desk; or maybe his chair was too lowto the ground. I couldn't decide. He and Grandma were still talking andlaughing, but grew quiet when my mother shut the door behind me with a click.Grandma gestured for me to join her.
