My Review: Firstly I'd like to thank Harlequin Teen Australia for sending me this book in return for an honest review.
With all the drama's at home and also at high school, you can understand why Rose is always angry, I would be angry too. With her father passing away, her brother going to college, her mother always busy or when they do talk she has her theropy voice on (lol), also a nasty (b*#ch) cheerleader who's out to get her. Even her best friend has joined the cheer squad from hell and Rose is worried she may be losing her best friend on top of everything else. There is alot of bullying going on and I'm happy that Rozett has the teachers taking action (or trying too). I know alot of schools out there don't do a damn thing or when they do it's too late. Rozett really brought the truth about what goes on behind those school walls and I liked that, made the story feel more real.
Finally she meets a certain hottie Jamie Forta (whistles), who makes her heart beat 100 beats a minute. Unfortunatly he's already taken, though that doesn't stop him from stealing a kiss from Rose (LOL He got kissed by a Rose). Ok, I'm getting off track lol! Their relationship is slowly blossoming into something special. *sigh*
I found Rose to be an amazing main character, her life might be in a bad spot but she keeps going and does the right thing, even if it kicks her in the butt later. I truly felt for her. Here I thought I went through hell in high school lol! Rose most definitely has one up on me!
I just loved this story! The characters are easy to relate too. I mean, we've all been through high school (or still in high school) and know the ups and downs, the good days and the bad ones. The story is well written, it gives you a little bit of everything (emotionally). I found myself always trying to finish what I was doing so I could keep reading lol! It's definitely a book you could finish in one sitting.
Congratulations to author Louise Rozett on an amazing debut novel. I look forward to the sequel Confessions Of An Almost Girlfriend and seeing where she'll take the story next.
